You often hear that frozen or tinned fruit and vegetables offer less nutritional value than those picked and served fresh!
Would it surprise you to learn that this is simply untrue! When working out how best to supplement your diet with the recommended five a day, just keep in mind that often frozen or tinned produce can have more nutritional value than that which is served fresh.
The reason for this is that vegetables and fruit sold in cans or frozen, is often packaged soon after being picked – this means they keep most of their goodness. “Fresh” produce, by contrast, may often travel for days and be consumed long after being picked!
